“We had the most wonderful morning snowshoeing through the woods with our guide Mustafa! The meeting point and transportation was super easy, the equipment was easy to use and the forest was breathtakingly beautiful. Mustafa was very knowledge at stopped at intervals to tell us about the forest and also to take any photos. Just make sure to layer up really well especially hands and feet as it was really cold at -8, at the end of January! There is a cafe/restaurant to visit very close to the start/end point which is great for warming up, before going back into the city. Definitely a must if you’re visiting Oslo in…”

5.Oslo: Snowshoeing in the Forest with Norwegian BBQ

★★★★★★★★★★4.9 · 67 reviews · 3 hours · from $145

Meet Frederik at Frognerseteren metro station for a three-hour forest outing. Snowshoe through the hills above Oslo, make your own tracks, learn about local wildlife and culture, then cook hotdogs in lompe over a fire with hot solbær juice. If snow is thin, the trip continues on foot.

“We most liked the camp fire and cooking our sausages on sticks. That was a lovely experience. Having a location by a metro line was helpful. The level of ‘adventure’ was just right for me and my 7 year old. Fredrick was calm and friendly and the pace was good; not too fast or slow! There was unusually no snow but this is still a fab activity without it. The location is higher up than we thought so it also includes lovely views of Oslo. And at the end there’s a lovely cafe. A very nice activity out of the city centre.”
